Our Club Vision

Guided by professionally licensed coaches who fully embrace the responsibility of coaching and player development, we aim to inspire athletes to achieve their soccer goals and cultivate a lifelong love for the game. 

Our Vision is to meet players at their current level and provide the coaching, training environment, and tools for them to reach their full potential.

Club Culture at CFU

Our club culture is built on the foundation of high work rate, sportsmanship, and strong character. We inspire our players to push their limits and strive to reach the highest level of their potential, embracing challenges with determination and resilience. By fostering respect, integrity, and a team-first mindset, we create an environment where players not only excel in the game, but grow as individuals who embody the true spirit of soccer. 

Ultimately our goal is to develop players who have the ability to read and understand the game, make autonomous decisions, and execute technically.

Programs at CFU

CFU offers a development pathway designed to meet the needs of players at all levels - from beginners to advanced players. Our Developmental Program provides an introduction to the game, focusing on fundamental technical skills, enjoyment, and growth. Players can join our After-School Development Program, which emphasizes skill-building in a fun environment or the Competitive Recreational Program, which introduces a competitive element with more advanced training and recreational league games. For players seeking a higher level of play, our Competitive Program offers structured training 2-3 times weekly, with participation in local competitive leagues and tournaments, which help to enhance skill development and game understanding. The Academy Program is the most advanced of CFU’s offerings, designed for the most dedicated athletes who aspire to play at their highest level. Academy players train 3-5 times weekly in a highly competitive environment and are selected through an invitation-only tryout process. Whether just starting out or reaching for the highest level of competition, CFU provides the coaching, training environment, and opportunities to help players reach their full potential.

Player Pathways

Developmental

After school & Competitive Recreational
CFU's After School & Competitive Recreational Programs  are meant as an introduction to soccer with an emphasis on learning the game, fitness, and fun.  In our After School Program, fundamental skills are taught while fostering team camaraderie with a low level of competition.
Our Competitive Recreational Program builds on these attributes while introducing structured training and competition through games played in local recreational leagues.  Training is overseen by a licensed CFU club coach and is 1-2 times weekly depending on the program...

Competitive

The Competitive Program at CFU is designed for players looking to continue to develop their game in a competitive environment. Running year-round from July through May, the program is divided into two seasons—Fall and Spring—and includes training 2-3 times weekly with professionally licensed coaches.  A built-in break in the Fall allows players to participate in Middle & High School soccer.
Players develop individual skills and learn team tactical principles in a competitive environment.  Structured training, competitive league play, and tournament participation offer consistent opportunities to prepare athletes for higher levels of competition.

Academy

The Academy Program at CFU is designed for the most committed players seeking to elevate their skills and commitment to the game. Running year-round from July through May, the program is divided into two seasons—Fall and Spring—and includes training 3-5 times weekly with professionally licensed Academy coaches.  A built-in break in the Fall allows players to participate in Middle & High School soccer.
Players engage in advanced technical training, strategic development, and tactical principles to refine their performance. The program also incorporates video analysis, providing valuable insights into player development and game understanding. Additionally, position-specific profiling and evaluation are integrated, allowing players to receive tailored feedback that enhances their individual strengths and tactical awareness. With structured training, regular league play, and tournament participation, the Academy Program offers consistent opportunities to prepare athletes for the highest levels of competition.

Evaluations at CFU

Evaluations at CFU are not "tryouts" for specific teams.

 

Evaluation-Based Placement: Our club focuses on player evaluations rather than traditional tryouts. This approach allows us to assess each player’s skills, work ethic, and commitment, ensuring they are placed in the program that best fits their development goals and abilities. We believe every player deserves the opportunity to grow in an environment tailored to their level and ambition.
